Among this year’s awardees, Emily Leproust, Co-Founder and CEO of Twist Bioscience, has emerged as a leader in synthetic biology, pioneering a high-throughput DNA synthesis platform that enhances gene synthesis processes across various applications. Nello Mainolfi, Founder and CEO of Kymera Therapeutics, has made significant strides in the field of targeted protein degradation, establishing a robust pipeline of first-in-class therapies that promise to address critical health issues. Additionally, Rachel Haurwitz, Co-Founder and CEO of Caribou Biosciences, is leading the development of transformative therapies for patients with devastating diseases through her innovative genome-editing platform.

1. Tim Van Hauwermeiren
Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, argenx
Tim Van Hauwermeiren is the Co-Founded and Chief Executive Officer of argenx, a global immunology company committed to improving the lives of people suffering from severe autoimmune diseases. He has served as CEO since 2008 and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2014. Under his leadership, argenx collaborates with academic researchers through its Immunology Innovation Program to develop antibody-based medicines.
Van Hauwermeiren has more than 20 years of general management and business development experience across the life sciences and consumer goods sectors, including at Ablynx and Procter and Gamble. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in bioengineering from Ghent University and an MBA from The Vlerick School of Management. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of iTeos Pharmaceuticals and Aelin Therapeutics where he is Chairman.
2. Martine Rothblatt
Founder, Chairperson, and Chief Executive Officer, United Therapeutics
Dr. Martine Rothblatt founded United Therapeutics in 1996 and has served as Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer since its inception. United Therapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on creating unique products to address the medical needs of patients with chronic illnesses. Under her leadership, the company emphasizes innovation and a commitment to its stakeholders.
Previously, Dr. Rothblatt founded satellite radio company SiriusXM. She holds nine U.S. patents as an inventor or co-inventor, with additional applications pending. Her book, Your Life or Mine: How Geoethics Can Resolve the Conflict Between Private and Public Interests in Xenotransplantation, anticipated the need both for global virus bio-surveillance and a greatly expanded supply of transplantable organs. Dr. Rothblatt graduated from University of California, Los Angeles with a JD and an MBA.
3. Emily Leproust
Co-Founder and CEO, Twist Bioscience
Emily Leproust is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Twist Bioscience, a synthetic biology and genomics company that has developed a DNA synthesis platform for industrial applications. As a pioneer in high-throughput DNA synthesis and sequencing, Dr. Leproust is enhancing gene synthesis processes to support the growth of synthetic biology applications across various fields, including medicine, DNA data storage, agricultural biology, and industrial chemicals.
Previously Leproust held several positions at Agilent Technologies, where she successfully architected the SureSelect product line that lowered the cost of sequencing and elucidated mechanisms responsible for dozens of Mendelian diseases. She also developed the Oligo Library Synthesis technology, where she initiated and led product and business development activities for the team.
Dr. Leproust has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers and is the author of numerous patents. She holds a PhD in organic chemistry and nucleic acids chemistry from the University of Houston and a master’s degree in industrial chemistry from CPE Lyon.
4. Jan Møller Mikkelsen
Founder, CEO and President, Ascendis Pharma
Jan Møller Mikkelsen founded Ascendis Pharma and has served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Board member since its inception. The company utilizes its innovative TransCon technology platform to develop a fully integrated biopharma company focused on improving patients’ lives.
Previously, Mikkelsen was President and Chief Executive Officer of LifeCycle Pharma A/S, now Veloxis Pharmaceuticals A/S. Prior to that, he was President of the Pharmaceutical Division of Maxygen, Inc. Earlier in his career Mikkelsen held various positions at Novo Nordisk A/S, including Vice President of Protein Discovery. Mikkelsen received a PhD-equivalent degree in biochemistry from the University of Odense, Denmark and pursued his post-doctoral research at Children’s Hospital Oakland in California.
5. Stephen Turner
Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer, PacBio
Stephen Turner is the Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer of PacBio. Turner founded PacBio, formerly Nanofluidics, and in 2004 secured its Series A funding. PacBio is a premier life science technology company that designs, develops, and manufactures advanced sequencing solutions to help scientists and clinical researchers resolve genetically complex problems.
Turner earned a PhD in physics from Cornell University, where he collaborated with Prof. Harold Craighead to study biomolecules in nano-fabricated structures. He was part of the project team that developed the technology currently used by PacBio and co-authored the cover story in Science magazine, which introduced this technology to the scientific community. He holds bachelor’s degrees in applied mathematics, electrical engineering, and physics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
6. Neil Kumar
Co-Founder and CEO, BridgeBio
Neil Kumar is a Co-Founder of BridgeBio Pharma, where he has served as Chief Executive Officer and a Board member since April 2015. BridgeBio is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company founded to discover, create, test and deliver transformative medicines to treat patients who suffer from genetic diseases. Dr. Kumar has also served as the Chief Executive Officer Eidos Therapeutics, Inc., a clinical-stage subsidiary, and as a board member since 2016.
Previously, Kumar served as Interim VP of Business Development at MyoKardia, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. Prior to that, Dr. Kumar served as a Principal at Third Rock Ventures. Before joining Third Rock Ventures, he served as an Associate Principal at McKinsey and Company. Kumar holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from Stanford University and a PhD in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
7. Juan Jaen
President, Co-Founder, and Board of Directors, Arcus Biosciences
Juan Jaen is the President and Co-Founder of Arcus Biosciences, where he also serves on the Board of Directors. Arcus Biosciences is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing differentiated molecules and combination therapies for cancer treatment.
The company collaborates with industry partners, patients, and physicians worldwide to advance first- or best-in-class medicines targeting well-characterized biological pathways, as well as exploring innovative, biology-driven combinations. Dr. Jaen has over 30 years of experience in drug discovery and development, co-founding Arcus in 2015.
Before starting Arcus, Dr. Jaen was Co-Founder and President of Flexus Biosciences. He was also Chief Scientific Officer and SVP of Drug Discovery at ChemoCentryx, where he led the discovery and progression into the clinic of eight novel immunology drug candidates. Dr. Jaen has also held various positions at Amgen, Tularik, and Parke-Davis/Warner-Lambert.
Dr. Jaen is an inventor on 50 patents and has helped the advancement of over 20 novel molecules into clinical development across a range of indications. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a PhD in chemistry and from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with a masters’ degree in chemistry.
8. Chris Gibson
Co-Founder and CEO, Recursion Pharmaceuticals
Chris Gibson is the Co-Founder and CEO of Recursion, a clinical-stage technology company focused on advancing drug discovery through biological insights. The company's mission is supported by the Recursion OS, a platform that integrates various technologies to continuously expand one of the world's largest proprietary biological and chemical datasets. Recursion employs machine-learning algorithms to identify trillions of searchable relationships within its dataset, enhancing the drug discovery process.
Gibson developed the technology and approach that seeded Recursion as part of his MD/PhD work in the lab of Co-Founder Dr. Dean Li, current President of Merck Research Labs, while at the University of Utah. After completing his PhD, he left medical school to focus on building Recursion into a rapidly growing company. Gibson holds degrees in bioengineering and management from Rice University.
9. James Sabry
Co-Founder, Member, Scientific Advisory Board, Cytokinetics
James Sabry is the Co-Founder and Member of Cytokinetics, a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing muscle biology-directed drug candidates as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. Sabry also currently sits on the company’s scientific advisory board.
Prior to Cytokinetics, Sabry held faculty positions at the University of California, San Francisco and Harvard Medical School. He served on the Board of Directors of HopeLab, a not-for-profit organization developing innovative technologies for the management of cancer, obesity, and other diseases.
Sabry is a former member of the Dean's Council of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and served on the advisory board of the California Institute of Quantitative Biosciences. He holds an MD from Queen’s University and a PhD in neuroscience from the University of California, San Francisco.
10. Jurgi Camblong
Co-Founder and CEO, SOPHiA GENETICS
Jurgi Camblong is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SOPHiA GENETICS, a cloud-native healthcare technology company focused on expanding access to data-driven medicine. The company leverages AI to enhance patient care for cancer and rare disorders globally. It developed the SOPHiA DDM Platform, which analyzes complex genomic and multimodal data to generate real-time, actionable insights for hospitals, laboratories, and biopharma institutions.
Dr. Camblong holds a PhD in life sciences from the University of Geneva and an Executive MBA in management of technology from EPFL/HEC Lausanne. He is a published molecular biologist, with work featured in Cell, Science, and Nature. In 2011, he co-founded SOPHiA GENETICS with Dr. Pierre Hutter and Prof. Lars Steinmetz and has served on the Board of Directors since March 2011.
11. Craig Crews
Founder, Arvinas
Craig Crews is the Founder of Arvinas, a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing therapies that degrade disease-causing proteins to improve the lives of patients with debilitating and life-threatening diseases. He has worked extensively with pharmaceutical companies to support their research and development pipelines with novel drug discovery ideas. His previous venture, Proteolix, founded in 2003, developed Kyprolis, a drug approved by the FDA for treating multiple myeloma, and was sold in 2009 for $851 million.
Dr. Crews is the Lewis B. Cullman Professor of molecular, cellular and developmental biology and professor of chemistry and pharmacology at Yale University. Central to Arvinas’ proprietary approach is the targeting of disease-causing proteins for degradation, resulting in their elimination from the body. Arvinas worked with the Yale Office of Cooperative Research to secure intellectual property protection. Crews graduated from Harvard University with a PhD in biochemistry and from the University of Virginia with an undergraduate degree in chemistry.
12. David Walt
Founder and Director, Quanterix
David R. Walt is the Scientific Founder of Quanterix, a company that develops ultra-sensitive biomarker detection technologies. Quanterix utilizes its proprietary Simoa (Single Molecule Array) platform to measure low-abundance biomarkers in blood and other biological samples, enabling researchers to detect and monitor various diseases, including neurological disorders and cancer.
Previously, Dr. Walt was University Professor at Tufts University. He has co-founded several other life sciences companies including Illumina Inc., Ultivue, Inc., Arbor Biotechnologies, Sherlock Biosciences and Vizgen. He also serves on the board of Exicure, Inc. Dr. Walt received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Michigan, a PhD in chemical biology from SUNY at Stony Brook, and did postdoctoral studies at MIT.
13. Riley Ennis
Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, Freenome
Riley Ennis is the Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Freenome, where he leads the clinical and commercial development of the company's noninvasive blood tests for early cancer detection. Freenome utilizes a multiomics approach that combines advanced computational biology and machine learning to identify cancer at its earliest and most treatable stages. The company aims to make cancer screening more accessible, starting with its focus on colorectal cancer through innovative blood tests.
A Thiel Fellow, Ennis developed a cancer vaccine and founded his first biotech company, Immudicon, while still in high school. He has co-authored several publications and worked as a visiting scientist with Novartis. Ennis has also worked as an analyst at Morgan Stanley and an associate at Bridgewater. His previous biotech experience includes work at Foundation Medicine, Syros Pharmaceuticals, Adimab, and Emergent Biosolutions. Ennis graduated from Dartmouth College with an undergraduate degree in molecular biology.
14. Samuel Waksal
Founder and Founding Chairman, MeiraGTx
Dr. Samuel Waksal is the Founder and Founding Chairman of MeiraGTx, a company based in London and New York that focuses on gene regulation, ocular gene therapy, xerostomia, and neurodegeneration. He was also a founding director of Medicis Pharmaceuticals, a dermatology company acquired by Valeant.
Dr. Waksal also founded Kadmon Holdings, a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing medicines in oncology, infectious diseases, immunology, and metabolic diseases, where he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, he established Merlin, a key part of Somatix, recognized as one of the early gene therapy companies.
Previously, Dr. Waksal was a professor of pathology and director of the Division of Immunotherapy at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. His research experience includes roles as a visiting investigator at the National Cancer Institute, a research associate at Stanford University Medical School, an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, and a senior scientist at the Tufts Cancer Research Center.
Dr. Waksal has been a scholar of the Leukemia Society of America and has served as a visiting professor at the Pasteur Institute in France and the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. He earned his doctorate in immunology from The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
15. Michael Weiss
Founder, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer, TG Therapeutics
Michael S. Weiss founded and has served as the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of TG Therapeutics since 2011. TG Therapeutics is a fully integrated, commercial stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the acquisition, development and commercialization of novel treatments for B-cell diseases.
Weiss previously founded ACCESS Oncology, where he served as CEO until its merger with Keryx Biopharmaceuticals, after which he continued as Chairman and CEO until mid-2009. There, he was instrumental in acquiring and developing AURYXIA, which is approved for treating patients on dialysis.
Prior to founding ACCESS Oncology, Weiss worked as a lawyer and later as an investor in biotech venture capital. He remains passionate about supporting early-stage biotech companies and currently serves as Vice Chairman of Fortress Biotech and Chairman of Checkpoint Therapeutics and Mustang Bio. He began his career as a lawyer at Cravath, Swaine & Moore.
16. Grant Pickering
Co-Founder, CEO, Director, Vaxcyte
Grant Pickering is the Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Vaxcyte, a vaccine innovation company engineering high-fidelity vaccines to protect humankind from the consequences of bacterial diseases. The company is developing broad-spectrum conjugate and novel protein vaccines to prevent or treat bacterial infectious diseases.
Pickering is a seasoned pharmaceutical and biotech executive with over 30 years of experience across vaccines and immunotherapeutic drug development and commercialization, as well as the successful formation and financing of multiple platform companies.
Prior to founding Vaxcyte, Pickering served as the CEO of Mymetics Corporation, a European-based vaccine company developing a prophylactic RSV vaccine based on a virosomal platform technology. Previously, he was an executive-in-residence at Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield and Byers, while also serving as the CEO at Juvaris BioTherapeutics.
Under his leadership, Juvaris’ immunotherapeutic and vaccine adjuvant platform yielded multiple animal health products, launched by its alliance partner Bayer HealthCare, including Zelnate and Victrio.
Pickering began his career at Glaxo and Johnson & Johnson in sales, marketing, and clinical research roles. He currently serves on the board of directors of Athira Pharma, Inc. He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Georgetown University.
17. Ken Mills
Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors, REGENXBIO
Ken Mills is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at REGENXBIO, having previously served as the founding President and Chief Executive Officer from 2009 to 2024. He led the company's initial public offering in 2015 and played a crucial role in developing REGENXBIO into a leading gene therapy biotech with comprehensive capabilities in research and development, clinical trials, and manufacturing. Under his leadership, the company advanced its proprietary NAV Technology Platform, significantly impacting the field of AAV gene therapy.
Prior to REGENXBIO, Mills served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Business Development at Meso Scale Diagnostics, where he was a part of the founding management team and worked to establish the company operations and ongoing business strategy. In this position, Mills supervised all company activities, including direct management of corporate and business development, strategic planning, finance and accounting activities.
Prior to that, Mills was Director of Business Development for IGEN International, a medical diagnostics company. Mills holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
18. Steve Harr
Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sana Biotechnology
Steve Harr is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sana Biotechnology, a company focused on creating and delivering engineered cells as therapies for patients, with a vision of repairing and controlling genes and replacing missing or damaged cells. Sana aims to make these advanced therapies accessible to patients, leveraging its expertise in gene and cell therapy to develop innovative solutions for a variety of diseases.
Prior to co-founding Sana, Harr served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Development for Juno Therapeutics until its acquisition by Celgene. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Loxo Oncology prior to its acquisition by Eli Lilly. Additionally, Harr co-founded JW Therapeutics, a cell therapy company based in China.
Before joining Juno, Harr held positions at Morgan Stanley, where he was Managing Director and Head of Biotechnology Investment Banking, as well as a biotech research analyst and co-head of global healthcare research. Harr holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from College of the Holy Cross and an MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
19. Greg Verdine
Co-Founder, Wave Life Sciences
Gregory L. Verdine is a Co-Founder of Wave Life Sciences and has served on its Board of Directors since 2013. Wave Life Sciences is a biotechnology company dedicated to harnessing the potential of RNA medicines to improve human health. The company's PRISM platform integrates multiple modalities, innovative chemistry, and insights from human genetics to advance treatments for both rare and common disorders.
Since 1989, Dr. Verdine has been the Erving Professor of Chemistry at Harvard University and Harvard Medical School, where he is now Emeritus. He co-founded the Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute and the Gloucester Biotechnology Academy, serving as the Founding President.
Dr. Verdine is also a Co-Founder of Fog Pharmaceuticals Inc., currently serving as Vice Chairman of the board of directors. He also holds the positions of President and CEO at LifeMine Therapeutics Inc. Previously, he founded Warp Drive Bio, where he served as Chief Scientific Officer and CEO, and was a Founder of Enanta Pharmaceuticals, serving on its board until its initial public offering.
20. Troy Wilson
Co-Founder and Executive Chairman Of The Board Of Directors, Avidity Biosciences
Troy Wilson is the Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board at Avidity Biosciences, a biotechnology company focused on revolutionizing the delivery of RNA therapeutics through its innovative Antibody Oligonucleotide Conjugates (AOCs). Avidity's mission is to improve lives by targeting the underlying genetic drivers of diseases, enabling treatments for both rare and common conditions.
Dr. Wilson currently also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Kura Oncology. Previously, he co-founded and served as President and CEO of Araxes Pharma LLC and Wellspring Biosciences, where he and his team pioneered the discovery and development of small molecule inhibitors of the KRAS oncoprotein.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Wilson co-founded and served as President and CEO of Intellikine, a private biopharmaceutical company, acquired by Takeda Pharmaceuticals. He also co-founded and served as Chief Business Officer of Ambrx, acquired by Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines. Dr. Wilson holds a JD from New York University as well as a PhD in bioorganic chemistry and bachelor’s degree in biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley.
21. Daphne Koller
Founder and CEO, Board Member, insitro
Daphne Koller is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Insitro, a biotechnology company that leverages machine learning and high-throughput biology to enhance drug discovery and development processes. Insitro aims to transform the traditional methods of discovering and developing therapeutics by integrating large datasets and advanced computational techniques to model diseases and identify new therapeutic targets.
Previously, Koller was the Co-Founder, Co-CEO, and President of online education platform Coursera. She is also the Co-Founder of Engageli, an interactive digital learning platform aimed at improving learning outcomes. Koller was the Rajeev Motwani Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University for 18 years and continues as an adjunct faculty member.
Additionally, Koller held the position of Chief Computing Officer at Calico, an Alphabet company focused on healthcare. Koller graduated from Stanford University with a PhD in computer science and from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a master’s degree in computer science and an undergraduate degree in mathematics and computer science.
22. Molly Gibson
Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer, Generate:Biomedicines
Molly Gibson is the Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Generate:Biomedicines, a Flagship Pioneering company. At Generate, Gibson oversees corporate strategy, platform and data strategy, and an innovation group called G:Labs that explores novel applications of The Generate Platform.
Gibson is also an origination partner at Flagship Pioneering. Through her role in Flagship Labs, she has contributed to the launch and growth of Tessera Therapeutics and Cobalt Biomedicines. Gibson’s work has resulted in multiple pending patents and publications, including articles in Science and Nature.
Gibson holds a PhD in computational and systems biology from Washington University. At Washington University, she collaborated with St. Louis Children's Hospital to study the effects of early life interventions on development of the preterm infant gut microbiome and health outcomes.
23. Arthur Weiss
Co-Founder and Member of Scientific Advisory Board, Nurix Therapeutics
Arthur Weiss is the Co-Founder and Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Nurix Therapeutics, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of innovative small molecules and antibody therapies. The company focuses on modulating cellular protein levels as a novel treatment approach for cancer, inflammatory conditions, and other challenging diseases. Dr. Weiss is a pioneer in cell biology and signal transduction.
Dr. Weiss is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator and Ephraim P. Engleman Distinguished Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. He has previously served as the President of the American Association of Immunologists. He was also elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Medicine.
Dr. Weiss holds a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and earned his MD and PhD from the University of Chicago School of Medicine. He did postdoctoral training at the Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research and his clinical training in internal medicine and rheumatology at UCSF.
24. Sekar Kathiresan
Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Board Member, Verve Therapeutics
Dr. Sekar Kathiresan is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Verve Therapeutics, a clinical-stage company focused on developing a new class of genetic medicines for cardiovascular disease. Verve aims to transform treatment approaches from chronic management to single-course gene editing therapies.
Dr. Kathiresan has dedicated his career to understanding the inherited factors contributing to heart attacks and leveraging these insights to enhance the care of cardiovascular disease. Based on his discoveries in human genetic mutations that confer resistance to cardiovascular disease, Sek co-founded Verve Therapeutics with a vision to create a pipeline of single-course, gene editing therapies aimed at addressing the root causes of this highly prevalent and life-threatening disease.
Prior to Verve, Kathiresan served in a variety of roles including director of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Center for Genomic Medicine, director of the Cardiovascular Disease Initiative at the Broad Institute, and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. At Harvard, Kathiresan’s research laboratory focused on understanding the inherited basis for blood lipids and myocardial infarction.
Kathiresan holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania and an MD from Harvard Medical School. He completed clinical training in internal medicine and cardiology at MGH and postdoctoral research training in human genetics at the Framingham Heart Study and the Broad Institute.
25. Arie Belldegrun
Co-Founder and Executive Chairman, Allogene Therapeutics
Arie Belldegrun is the Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Allogene Therapeutics, a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on pioneering the development of allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapies for cancer. The company aims to create therapies that leverage genetically modified T cells from healthy donors, potentially offering more accessible and scalable treatment options compared to traditional autologous CAR T therapies, which use a patient's own T cells.
Previously, Belldegrun founded Kite Pharma, a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing innovative cancer immunotherapies. He served as Chairman, President, and CEO until Kite was acquired by Gilead Sciences. Additionally, he holds the Roy and Carol Doumani Chair in Urologic Oncology and is Director of the UCLA Institute of Urologic Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Prior to his tenure at UCLA, he was a research fellow at the National Cancer Institute/NIH under Dr. Steven A. Rosenberg. He completed his MD at the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem, his post-graduate studies in Immunology at the Weizmann Institute of Science, and his residency in urologic surgery at Harvard Medical School.

Menzaghi has 30 years of proven track record in building and leading interdisciplinary teams spanning the entire drug development process from exploratory drug discovery to product approval in biotechnology setting, with recent worldwide approval of intravenous Korsuva (Difelikefalin), a breakthrough therapy for hemodialysis patients suffering from chronic pruritus.
Previously, Menzaghi was a VP of Pharmacology and Business Development at PsychoGenics and before that a Research Director of Pharmacology at Arena Pharmaceuticals, acquired by Pfizer. Earlier in her career, Menzaghi worked as a research scientist at SIBIA Neurosciences, which was later acquired and integrated into Merck Research Laboratories. Menzaghi earned a PhD in neurosciences from the University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France and a master’s degree in clinical psychology and neurophysiology.
