Island, an enterprise browser company, has raised $250 million in Series E funding, bringing its total funding to $730 million and valuing the company at $4.8 billion. The round was led by Coatue Management, with participation from existing investors. Founded in 2020, Island offers a browser built specifically for enterprise use, with security, IT, and productivity features embedded directly into the browsing experience. Its platform is used by more than 450 companies to support zero-trust access, streamline SaaS usage, and simplify contractor onboarding without relying on virtual desktops.
The company has doubled its annual recurring revenue each year since launch and now has 500 employees, including over 200 in engineering and product development. Island reports that its product roadmap is shaped by close collaboration with enterprise IT and security leaders, with a focus on data control and threat protection. The new funding will be used to expand the team and accelerate product development.
