HealthTap has joined Eli Lilly and Company’s LillyDirect® platform as the first independent virtual primary care provider, a move that broadens access to diabetes care through a national telehealth network. The partnership allows HealthTap to integrate its primary care services into Lilly’s digital ecosystem, connecting patients with board-certified physicians for ongoing management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. By providing same-day appointments and long-term care continuity, HealthTap is positioning virtual primary care as an essential layer in the growing digital health infrastructure.
Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Geoffrey Rutledge said the collaboration reinforces primary care’s role in chronic disease management. For HealthTap, it also reflects the company’s broader strategy to embed its platform within major healthcare and pharmaceutical partnerships. With diabetes affecting more than 38 million Americans, the addition to LillyDirect marks another step in redefining how patients access and maintain consistent, high-quality care.
