Function Health, a company focused on long-term preventative care, has raised a $298 million Series B round at a $2.5 billion valuation as it expands its approach to comprehensive health monitoring. The company has gained traction through its membership model, offering 160+ lab tests, and has recently added advanced MRI and CT scans following its acquisition of Ezra.
Members have completed more than 50 million lab tests since 2023, and the firm has introduced new AI-driven features, including Private AI Chat and Protocols that translate complex data into practical steps. MD and Chief Medical Officer Mark Hyman stated, “Function is the most powerful approach I've seen in my career as a doctor. It delivers uncompromising depth with no shortcuts. This is the new standard for health.”
The company also launched its Medical Intelligence Lab, led by clinicians and researchers, to integrate data from labs, imaging, wearables, and medical records into a unified system. CEO Jonathan Swerdlin said, “This is the most important application of AI—helping people avoid suffering and preventable death.” Function expanded its leadership team with experts in radiology, women’s health, and operations, and investor support now includes Redpoint Ventures, a16z, and numerous individual backers. Function highlights that its goal is to help people “live 100 healthy years” through deeper biological insight and proactive health management.
