RecordPoint has acquired Redactive AI, a Melbourne-based data security engineering startup founded by former Atlassians Andrew Pankevicius and Alexander Valente, along with AI engineer Lucas Sargent. The deal marks an early exit for the two-year-old startup, which built enterprise-grade AI tools to address data management and security skill gaps within software teams. Clients included HESTA and PEXA.
Redactive raised an $11.5 million seed round in 2024 co-led by Felicis and Blackbird, with participation from Atlassian Ventures and Zapier. RecordPoint CEO Anthony Woodward said the acquisition strengthens the company’s AI capabilities to better serve regulated industries. “Redactive’s solution will be instrumental as we bolster our capabilities in AI security and governance,” he noted.
Co-Founder Alexander Valente called the acquisition one of Australia’s early examples of an AI-driven enterprise exit, reflecting both Redactive’s rapid growth and how quickly AI is reshaping business adoption cycles.
