ICEYE Secures $65M Extension in Growth Funding

ICEYE, a leading operator of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites, has announced a $65 million extension to its earlier 2024 growth funding round of $93 million. This additional financing, comprising debt and equity instruments, brings ICEYE's total funds raised in 2024 to $158 million and over $500 million to date. Participants in this extension include Solidium Oy, BlackRock, Seraphim, Plio Limited, and Christo Georgiev. The funds will support the enhancement of ICEYE's SAR satellite constellation, its intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platform, and other related systems to meet growing demand across industries.

The additional funding will enable ICEYE to expand its ISR capabilities and continue serving customers worldwide. With the largest SAR satellite constellation, ICEYE provides near real-time data and monitoring solutions, empowering sectors such as insurance, natural catastrophe response, maritime monitoring, and defense. Susan Repo, CFO of ICEYE, emphasized the company’s momentum and its ability to address the increasing need for space-based technology. With over 700 workers in numerous worldwide offices, ICEYE provides actionable information to improve resilience and sustainable development decision-making. Solidium CEO Reima Rytsölä said ICEYE might boost Finnish and global technology.
